So here is what's new! I just spoke to my German family on Friday morning and we ironed some things out, but she also gave me an opportunity of a life time! I'll give you a bit of background before I leak the news. For those who do not know, I am a musician (a clarinetist to be exact). My German family are all musicians. Enough of the background. SO, Sabine (my German mother), has asked me to perform with her and Stefan (German father)!!! I accepted! Who would pass that up! It is a small gig for a church in their hometown, but it is still a gig, none the less!
I now am going to spend my days practicing new music because sadly, I have never performed a single work by a German composer. Unless you count ensemble works, but solos I've got nothing... Well I'll hopefully talk to you soon! I've got a vacation coming up. Hopping across the hills to North Carolina in two weeks. Cannot wait to kick back!

Greatly going to miss these girls!!!

I absolutely love spending time with these beautiful women!!! They are my best friends and I have no idea what I would ever do without them. Sadly, I am going to have to learn. No more mid-day happy hour runs, or running down to Gardner's Market to grab a bit to eat. As long as I can still keep up with them in some way, I know that all will be well. Friendship truly is one of the greatest aspects in life.

“In friendship...we think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years' difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain houses, the choice of one university instead of another...the accident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting--any of these chances might have kept us apart. But, for a Christian, there are, strictly speaking no chances. A secret master of ceremonies has been at work. Christ, who said to the disciples, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you," can truly say to every group of Christian friends, "Ye have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another." The friendship is not a reward for our discriminating and good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God reveals to each of us the beauties of others.”
“The mark of Friendship is not that help will be given when the pinch comes (of course it will) but that, having been given, it makes no difference at all.”

It's just the beginning!

Well, the day finally came! I got the gig as an au pair! It was way harder than I thought to actually choose someone (or to be chosen), but when it came down to it. I got that email and almost jumped out of my skin! I still can't believe that I am going to live in Germany for a year with some pretty wonderful people! The kids are fantastic and I can't wait to be their "older sister".

(My parents are prepping me)
My goal is to update the blog everyday while I am across the pond. I realize that I don't leave for a few months, but I am going to be updating over the next few months about prep an such. Can't wait! See you soon!!!
